Twin Roll Take Up

With the increased interest in large diameter machines for producing Lycra fabrics without the centre crease, a recent development has been the twin roll take up. As can be seen from the diagram, the twin roll take up features two electrically driven side slitters which cut the fabric to enable it to be rolled on to two separate rolls.
Due to having rollers and directional air blowers, perfect roll edges can be achieved and crease free fabric can be guaranteed, which in expensive Lycra fabrics is very important.

The maximum roll weight is 100 kilograms per side, giving a total of 2 x 100 kilogram rolls. This is another important factor, as there is now no need to join fabric pieces together prior to dyeing and finishing, which again eliminates fabric waste.
